Character

You will generally need to provide a police certificate (penal clearance certificate) for every country—including your home country—where you have spent a cumulative total of 12 months or more in the last 10 years (since turning 16). This demonstrates that you satisfy the character requirement under Section 501 of the Migration Act 1958.
